This 1980 collection is split between composers Trevor Bastow (Side A) and Alan Hawkshaw (Side B), both of whom have been part of some incredible music for the label. What is found here, as the cover and the title somewhat imply, is an all-electronic affair; synthesizers and sequencers galore set the tone for this set, which seems much more suited to something “scientific” rather than the dance floor.

Bastow’s pieces in particular sound extra “techy”; “Kinetic Montage” and “Kinetic Main Title” certainly sound like a vocoder is even in employ. Hawkshaw’s pieces are heavy on the “synth brassy” side of things, particularly “Vision 3″. “Synchrovision” is perhaps his most enjoyable contribution. The bell-voiced synthesizers on “Crystal Vision” are also a nice touch, though “Treble Vision” takes noodling to a new level.
